Notes

mudé
  1. 1,0 1,1 The contrast between flapped r and trilled rr is the same as in Spanish. English does not phonemically have either sound.
  2. The letter Template:Angbr is sometimes written Template:Angbr due to technical limitations or because of its use in English for the same sound and its analogy to the other digraphs Template:Angbr, Template:Angbr, and Template:Angbr. Usually, it is written simply Template:Angbr or, more rarely, Template:Angbr, with the context resolving any ambiguities.

The letter r is actually an alveolar approximant [ɹ], similar to the r sound in North American English.
